About Us

Founded in 2008 as a private, not-for-profit, club by a group of Southeast Michigan semi and retired professionals that share their passion, competitive and structured spirit of this game. RIGC is not a league but a traveling club. RIGC is recognized by Golf Association of Michigan as a Type 3 Club. RIGC membership consists of players of all levels of golf, some retired some still working.

A player must have an established handicap with a state golf association like Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) or United States Golf Association (USGA). For golfers who do not currently have an established handicap, RIGC will assist them in establishing a handicap necessary for participation in the weekly games. Members are invited to participate in a club sponsored golf game each Wednesday during the season at a course on our rotation list.

Additional non-club golf outings in other locations within and outside Michigan are common. RIGC takes pride in the many fine courses found in SE Michigan and makes a particular effort to work with each golf facility to ensure a good golf experience for our members and to help promote each particular golf course and its services.

Common to many private golf clubs, the RIGC schedules individual golf tournaments such as the club’s Medal Play Championship and the club’s signature tournament “The President’s Match Play Club Championship” played over a several weeks at the peak of the season. RIGC sponsors the medal play champion to participate in the year end Tournament of Club Champions sponsored by The Golf Association of Michigan.
